Nicole is an Associate in the Wills and Estates, Corporate-Commercial, and Real Estate Group at Bennett Grant LLP. She completed her Articles of Clerkship with the firm and is honoured to return as a lawyer. Nicole is building her practice in estate planning and administration, where she enjoys working closely with clients to develop strategies and draft wills and Powers of Attorney tailored to their needs. She also advises clients in real estate and corporate matters, and particularly values the opportunity to support farmers and clients in the agricultural sector.
Born and raised in Wellesley, Nicole has deep roots in the Region of Waterloo. She completed her undergraduate degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, graduating as the Gold Medalist of her class, before attending Western University’s Faculty of Law. At Western, she graduated with the Law Society of Ontario Prize. She was called to the Ontario Bar in June 2024.
During law school, Nicole gained diverse experience through research and advocacy. She worked with Western’s family law faculty as a researcher and for the Office of the Children’s Lawyer. She also worked as a legal researcher and writer for the Centre for Research & Education on Violence Against Women & Children, where her work was published on developments in Canadian case law. For three years, she also served as a Caseworker at Western’s Community Legal Services Clinic, where she provided free family law services, earning the David C. Scott Memorial Prize and the Stanley C. Tessis Memorial Award for her contributions to pro bono legal work. Nicole also honed her advocacy skills through moots and negotiation competitions, including placing at the Walsh Family Law Negotiation Competition.
At Western Law, Nicole earned the top mark in Family Law, the Granger Award in Family Law, the CCH Limited Prize in Family Law, the JG McLeod-McSorely Award in Advanced Family Law, the JSD Tory Writing Prize, and the Rosen Sunshine LLP Health Law Award for her paper critiquing Ontario’s parental determination laws, later published in Canadian Family Law Quarterly (2024).
Nicole currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Child Witness Centre of the Waterloo Region, where she chairs the Governance Committee. Outside of the office, Nicole enjoys spending time with her husband and family. She is a proud resident of Wilmot Township.
