Filipe A. Mendes

Fil is an Associate whose practice areas include civil litigation, insurance law and estate administration and planning.

Fil was born and raised in London, Ontario. He attended the University of Western Ontario on scholarship and graduated with distinction in 2002 with an Honours B.A. in History. He received the W. Donald R. Eldon Scholarship and Robert LaVerne Eagleson Gold Medal as the top graduating student in the undergraduate history program. He also attended law school at the University of Western Ontario after receiving the Dean of Law Entrance Scholarship, and graduated in 2005.

Fil articled at Madorin, Snyder LLP and has returned to the firm as an associate after his Call to the Bar in July 2006. His practice includes civil litigation, insurance law, and estate administration and planning.

Fil is fluent in Portuguese and French, having learned to read, write and speak both languages at an early age. He lives in Kitchener and is an active member of the local community, volunteering some of his time to the Reading Buddy program at the Kitchener Public Library, as President of the Waterloo Region Portuguese Business and Professional Association, and as a Member of the Board of Directors for Camp McGovern.
